DUNWOODY, Ga. - The Mount Vernon Varsity Girls Tennis team advanced to the GHSA Private Sweet 16 on Wednesday, April 23, defeating St. Vincent's Academy 3-0 at Dunwoody Country Club.
At no. 1 singles, Daniela O'Leary continued her stellar play with a commanding win in two sets (6-0, 6-0).
Jamie Berzack picked up a win at no. 2 singles, besting her opponent 6-1, 6-3.
Both doubles squads also picked up wins, with Hunter Reese Giardino and Brook Nazarian taking no. 1 doubles 6-3, 6-4.
Mary Laborde and Caroline Kincaid triumphed at no. 2 singles as well, 7-5/6-0.
Mount Vernon (9-5) will play next in the Sweet 16 of the GHSA Private State Tournament at Prince Avenue Christian School.
