NORCROSS, Ga. - The Mount Vernon Varsity Track & Field teams had a memorable day on Saturday, May 3 at GHSA Sectionals hosted by Greater Atlanta Christian School.
Multiple Mustangs posted qualifying marks to advance to the GHSA State Championships.
Below are those who qualified for State.
VARSITY GIRLS
-Morgan Huggins won 1600M with a time of 5:11.33 to advance to State
-Retta Duckett finished in Top-8 in Girls Shot Put to advance to State
-Kennedy Reynolds returns to State in the Girls 100M Hurdles
-Kennedy Reynolds returns to State in the Girls 300M Hurdles
-Girls 4x100M Relay qualified for State - Cora Champney, Alexis Smith, Kennedy Reynolds and Gracie Boswell
-Cora Champney and Alexis Smith qualified for State in the Girls 400M Run
-Alexis Kendall qualified for State in the Girls 800M
VARSITY BOYS
-Ethan Pajot qualified for State in the Boys 400M
-John Paine qualified for State in the Boys 300M
The GHSA State Championships are scheduled for May 9-10 at Carrollton High School in Carrollton, Ga.
