ATLANTA - The Mount Vernon Varsity Volleyball team picked up two wins on Tuesday night, August 26, defeating the Walker School Wolverines 2-0 followed by a 2-1 victory over the King's Ridge Christian School Tigers.
Against Walker, MV took the first set 25-19.
In the second set, the Mustangs took care of business with a 25-21 win to close the match.
MV's match against King's Ridge would go the distance, with the Mustangs winning the first set in convincing fashion 25-13.
The Tigers rallied for a 25-16 win in the second set but MV closed out the third set 15-6.
Mount Vernon is now 2-0 in Area 5-1A action and 8-6 overall.
Prior to Tuesday's matches, the Mustangs had a strong showing at the 2025 Rally Cup on Saturday, August 23 finishing 3-2 on the day with wins over Gainesville twice (2-0, 2-0) and Cambridge (2-1).
MV returns to play on Thursday, August 28, hosting George Walton Academy.
First serve is scheduled for 6 p.m. at the Upper Campus Gym.
