ATLANTA - The Mount Vernon Varsity Softball team picked up a region win on Tuesday afternoon, Sept. 30, defeating the Galloway School Scots 15-0 in three innings on Senior Night at Mustang Park.

MV scored nine runs in the first inning, five in the second and one in the third to bring the run-rule into effect.

Alex Schiff and Mia Winokur each finished with three RBI's while Kirsten Abbott totaled two.

Abbott, Schiff and Greer Weston each scored three runs as the Mustangs outhit the Scots 10-0 on the day.

MV's stellar pitching from Mollie Martin and Weston combined to throw a perfect game.

Martin struck out the first six batters faced while Weston earned one strikeout in relief.

MV (18-4, 5-3 Reg. 5-1A) closes out regular season play on Wednesday, Oct. 1, traveling to Social Circle High School for a non-region contest.

First pitch is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
