ATLANTA - The Mount Vernon Varsity Boys Basketball team pushed its winning streak to 10 games on Monday night, Dec. 15, defeating the Marietta High School Blue Devils 58-51 at the Upper Campus Gymnasium.
Trailing 28-22 at halftime, the Mustangs secured a 36-23 run in the second half to take the win.
Darrell Dickens led MV in scoring with 22 points that included a 7-for-12 performance from the field.
Noah Brady posted 14 points on six made field goals while teammate Chase Daniels finished with 11 points that included three made 3-pointers.
The Mustangs shot well from the field - 41.2 percent - while holding the Blue Devils to just 34.5.
MV also capitalized from the free throw line, going 10-for-12 for 83 percent.
Gabe Alterman led the team in assists with six and JJ Paige dished out four dimes as well.
Ty'Eric Randolph and Braylon Whitfield paced the Blue Devils in scoring with 13 points each.
Mount Vernon (10-0) returns to action on Monday, Dec. 22, traveling to The First Academy in Orlando, FL for a holiday tournament.
The Mustangs will take on Lake Highland Prep at 3 p.m. on the first day of the tournament.
