ATLANTA - The Mount Vernon Varsity Boys Basketball team picked up its sixth consecutive win on Tuesday night, Feb. 2, defeating the Fellowship Christian Paladins 83-52 on Senior Night at the Upper Campus Gym.

Tied at 12 after the first quarter, MV used a 24-9 run in the second period to take a 36-21 lead into halftime.

The Mustangs would outscore the Paladins 47-31 in the second half to take the win.

Darrell Dickens, III and Noah Brady paced MV in scoring, each finishing with 21 points.

Quint McGrath was in double-figures scoring with 15 points. The senior also pulled down nine rebounds on the night.

Jamaal Oliver led the team in assists with five and Dickens, III nabbed four steals.

Mount Vernon finished at 56.1 percent from the field and capitalized from the free throw line at 83.3 percent.

The Mustangs forced the Paladins into 25 turnovers that turned into 33 points.

MV dominated the points-in-the-paint battle as well, scoring 54 points from close-range.

Mount Vernon (20-2, 12-1 Reg. 5-1A DI) returns to action on Friday, Feb. 6, traveling to Galloway for another region matchup.

Tip-off against the Scots is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
