JOHNS CREEK, Ga. - The Mount Vernon Varsity Boys Lacrosse team opened the 2026 season with a bang on Monday night, Feb. 9, defeating the Mt. Pisgah Patriots 12-1 on the road.
The Mustangs scored three goals in the first period and outscored the Patriots 4-1 in the second quarter to lead 7-1 at halftime.
Mount Vernon dominated the second half, outscoring Mt. Pisgah 5-0 to take the win.
MV controlled the pace of the match, totaling 44 shots (18 on goal) while limiting the Patriots to just six (two on goal).
The Mustang defense also forced the Patriots into 33 turnovers throughout the match.
MV's goal scorers were: Dalton Siggers (4), Porter Ahrenkiel (2), Carr Easterlin (2), Gunnar Ehrlich (2), and Jackson Scotchie (2).
Ehrlich, Scotchie and Siggers each had one assist in the match.
Coleson Quisenberry snagged two saves in the net for MV as well.
Mount Vernon (1-0) returns to the field on Tuesday, Feb. 10, traveling to Riverwood .
Face-off against the Raiders is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. at Hoskyn Stadium.
