SANDY SPRINGS, Ga. - The Mount Vernon Varsity Boys Lacrosse team picked up its second win of the season on Tuesday night, Feb. 10, defeating the Riverwood Raiders 11-0 at Hoskyn Stadium.
MV jumped out to a 3-0 lead after the first period and added five goals in the second quarter to go ahead 8-0 at halftime.
A goal in the third and two more in the fourth sealed the win for the Mustangs.
Goals scored in the match included: Porter Ahrenkiel, Wyatt Cox, Carr Easterlin, Dalton Siggers and Jack Sharkey.
In goal, Coleson Quesinberry picked up 12 saves en route to shutout win.
The Mustangs totaled 27 shots throughout the match, 19 of which came on goal.
MV's defense was also active, forcing the Raiders into 17 turnovers.
Mount Vernon (2-0) returns to action on Tuesday, Feb. 17, traveling to play Woodward Academy.
Face-off is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. at Graham Hixon Field at Colquitt Stadium.
