MARIETTA, Ga. - The Mount Vernon Varsity Boys Lacrosse team picked up a road win on Monday night, March 17, shutting out the Kell High School Longhorns 12-0.

The Mustangs scored four goals in the first period and added six more in the second quarter to take a 10-0 lead by halftime.

MV added nine more goals in the third period to seal the win.

Carr Easterlin netted four goals to lead the Mustang offensive attack.

Other goal scorers included: Porter Ahrenkiel (3), Dalton Siggers (2), Gunnar Ehrlich (1), Dustin Kytle (1) and Jackson Scotchie (1).

The Mustangs controlled the pace of the match, ending with 38 shots on the night, including 30 on goal.

MV's defense pitched a shutout while causing 23 turnovers by the Longhorns.

The Mustangs also won 12 of 16 face-offs in the match.

Mount Vernon (5-1) returns to action on Thursday, March 19, hosting East Coweta High School.

Face-off is scheduled for 5 p.m. at Ron Hill Field.
