Varsity Boys Soccer Takes Down Providence Christian Academy, 2-1

ATLANTA - The Mount Vernon Varsity Boys Soccer team picked up a come-from-behind victory on Tuesday night, March 17, defeating the Providence Christian Academy Storm 2-1 at Ron Hill Field.

After trailing 1-0 midway through the first period, the Mustangs would rally at the 22-minute mark when Max Frushtick posted a goal on an assist from Jax Donaldson to even the match at 1-1.

The Mustangs got the game-winning goal in the second period from Dante Romagnoli on an assist from George Walmsley with 14 minutes to play in the match.

Holt Dimmock had three saves in goal while teammate Ashton Sedgley picked up two.

Mount Vernon (3-2), winner's of three straight, returns to action on Thursday, March 19 traveling to Weber School for a region match.

Kickoff against the Rams is scheduled for 7 p.m. at Kopman Field.
