Varsity Boys Soccer Nets Home Region Win Over Paideia, 2-0

ATLANTA - The Mount Vernon Varsity Boys Soccer team picked up its fifth straight win on Tuesday night, March 24, defeating the Paideia School Pythons 2-0 at Ron Hill Field in region play.

MV's Chase Betz found Eyob Anteneh in the eighth minute to give the Mustangs a 1-0 lead early on.

In the second half, Anteneh struck again for his second goal at the 62-minute mark of the match to put MV up 2-0.

Ashton Sedgley picked up one save in goal for the Mustangs en route to the shutout.

The Mustangs outshot Paideia 9-2 in the match as well.

Mount Vernon (5-2, 3-0 Reg. 5-1A DI) returns to action March 26-28 at the Smoky Mountain Cup in Gatlinburg, TN.

MV takes on Coffee County Central High School at 8 p.m. at Rocky Top Sports World (Field 1) on Thursday, March 26.

On Friday (March 27), MV will play Greenville High School at 6:40 p.m. followed by a match on Saturday (March 28) against Green Hill High School at 9 a.m.
