ATLANTA - The Mount Vernon Varsity Baseball picked up key region wins recently, defeating the Mt. Bethel Christian Academy Eagles 11-9 on the road in nine innings on March 28 followed by a 10-0 victory over the Galloway Scots at home on March 30.

at MT. BETHEL (March 28) - W, 11-9 (9 inn.)
MV defeated Mt. Bethel Christian Academy 11-9 in nine innings on Saturday, March 28.
-Jacob Dockter was 4-for-5 with three RBI with three doubles.
-Graham Cawthon finished 1-for-4 with two RBI
-Hudson Forrest had three hits, including one double
-Will Flowers was 2-for-6
-Bobby Bastek walked three times while teammate Harrison Mills totaled two free passes.
-Max Franklin picked up the win on the mound for MV
vs. GALLOWAY - W, 10-0 (5 inn.)
MV defeated Galloway 10-0 in five innings on Monday, March 30 at home
-Flowers had three hits, including two triples
-Dockter was 2-for-2 with three RBI, including a home run in the first inning
-Other Mustangs that drove in a run were: Flowers, Justin Jordan, and Mills
-Dockter threw a complete game shutout with eight strikeouts and four walks
Mount Vernon (9-7, 5-3 Reg. 5-1A DI) returns to play on Thursday, April 2, traveling to Wesleyan for another region game.
First pitch against the Wolves is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. at Gaebelein Field at Stark Stadium.
