PEACHTREE CORNERS, Ga. - The Mount Vernon Varsity Boys Soccer team picked up a big region win on Friday night, April 10, defeating the Wesleyan School Wolves 2-1 at Robinson Field.
Both teams picked up goals in the first half, with MV's first goal being scored by Max Frushtick assisted by Will Curry.
The game-winning goal for the Mustangs was scored by Jax Donaldson on a free kick in the second period with 4:45 to play in the match.
Ashton Sedgley totaled four saves in the win for Mount Vernon.
With Friday's victory, the Mustangs have now won 12 straight matches.
Mount Vernon (12-2) returns to action this week, hosting Woodward Academy on Monday, April 13 at 4 p.m. and Whitefield Academy on Thursday, April 16 at 6 p.m. at Ron Hill Field.
Thursday's match will determine the Region Champion.
