MARIETTA, Ga. - The Mount Vernon Varsity Baseball team picked up a road win on Wednesday night, April 15, defeating the Dominion Christian Knights 6-2.

MV jumped out to a 3-2 lead after the first inning of action.

Jacob Dockter started the scoring with a 2-RBI single that brought in Bobby Bastek and Hudson Forrest.

One batter later, Carson Albert singled in Harrison Mills.

The Mustangs added a run in the top of the third inning when Albert struck again for a RBI single the plated Mills for a 4-2 lead.

In the top of the fourth, Dockter doubled to bring in Forrest for a 5-2 Mustang advantage.

The final run of the game came in the top of the seventh when Albert drilled a solo home run to left field for a 6-2 lead.

Dockter earned the win on the mound for MV, throwing five innings and allowing two runs on one hit with six strikeouts and three walks.

Hayes Hudson pitched two scoreless innings in relief, striking out four and walking one.

Mount Vernon (12-9) closes out the regular season on Saturday, April 18, traveling to Mount Paran Christian School for a region game.

First pitch against the Eagles is scheduled for 12 p.m. at the Stephen A. Werner Athletic Complex in Kennesaw, Ga.
