Varsity Football Erases Early Deficit to Defeat Fellowship Christian on Homecoming, 28-14

ATLANTA - The Mount Vernon Varsity Football team erased an early 14-point deficit, defeating the Fellowship Christian School Paladins 28-14 in region play at Ron Hill Field on Friday, Oct. 2 on Homecoming 2026.

Trailing by two touchdowns at the end of the first quarter, the Mustangs got on the board early in the second period on an Anderson Rahal 5-yard touchdown reception from Kobe Fleming.

After getting a stop on the ensuing defensive possession, MV would score on the next drive capped off by a Taurean Rawlins 11-yard rush.

Pierce Bhamornsiri would add the PAT to tie the game at 14-14, a score that would stand at halftime.

The Mustangs scored again on their opening drive of the third quarter when Rawlins caught a two-yard pass from Fleming to give the Mustangs their first lead, 21-14.

MV sealed the game in the fourth quarter with a Fleming 12-yard touchdown run.

Fleming led the team in rushing yards (86 on 10 carries) and finished the game 9-of-18 passing with 74 yards, two touchdowns and one interception.

Rawlins paced the team in receiving with 43 yards on four catches. The senior also rushed for 77 yards as well.

Bhamornsiri was perfect on all PAT's.

The Mustangs (5-2, 3-0 Reg. 9-2A) will enjoy a 'bye' week before returning to region action on Friday, Oct. 16 at Walker School.

Kickoff against the Wolverines is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. at Robertson Field.
