Cross Country Recap: AT&T Stars Mill Panther Invitational

FAYETTEVILLE, Ga. - The Mount Vernon varsity cross country teams hit the trail on Saturday, Sept. 1, competing in the 7th Annual Stars Mill Panther Invitational at the Heritage Church course.

The varsity girls squad finished 14th of 22 teams with 386 points.

Emily Raeside impressed again, crossing the finish line in ninth place overall at 19:33.

Audrey O'Toole picked up a Top-50 finish in 48th place, clocking in at 22:19. Emery Dikeman was 117th with a time of 22:41.

In varsity boys competition the Mustangs finished 13th out of 29 teams with 394 points.

Nick Pierce crossed the finish line first for the Mustangs in 39th place overall at 17:40.

Sutter Guttery placed in the Top-50 in 48th with a time of 17:56.

Jason Harvey was 94th out of 253 runners, finishing with a time of 18:39.

Auburn took first place in the girls race with 37 points while Stars Mill won the varsity boys race with 72 points.

The Mustangs are back in action on Saturday, Sept. 8, competing in the 21st Annual Coach Benson Double Dip hosted by the Marist School.

The varsity boys race begins at 7:50 a.m. followed by the varsity girls at 8:20 a.m.
