Cross Country Recap: Coach Benson Double Dip

ATLANTA - The Mount Vernon varsity cross country teams were in action on Saturday, Sept. 8, competing in the Coach Benson Double Dip hosted by Marist.

In the varsity girls race, the Mustangs finished 18th of 22 teams.

Emily Raeside picked up another high finish, clocking in at 20:38, good for 10th place overall.

Audrey O'Toole placed 75th for the Mustangs at 23:59 while Emery Dikeman took 99th at 24:40.

In the varsity boys race, Mount Vernon took 19th of 24 teams in the field.

Nick Pierce placed 41st at 18:20 followed by Sutter Guttery in 87th at 19:10.

Marist took first place overall in girls and boys competition.

The Mustangs will enjoy a week off before returning to competition on Saturday, Sept. 22, competing in the Aubrae Gunderson Invitational at the Georgia International Horse Park in Conyers, Ga.

The varsity boys race begins at 8:40 a.m. followed by the varsity girls at 9 a.m.
