SANDY SPRINGS, Ga. - The Mount Vernon Middle School Blue (A) volleyball team is set for the 2018 Metro 10 Playoffs, scheduled to begin on Thursday, Oct. 4.

Mount Vernon, the no. 4 seed in the tournament, will take on the no. 5 seeded Walker School Wolverines at 4 p.m. at Mt. Paran in Kennesaw, Ga.

The winner of that match will take on Mt. Paran, the no. 1 seed in the tournament, immediately following the first match.

The Mustangs finished the season with a 7-3 record and head coach Paul Stupek is optimistic about the 2018 squad.

"Our motto on the court is to talk and move. Volleyball is one of the ultimate team sports and each girl will be called upon to help the team with her own unique skill set nearly every set we play," Stupek said. "We instill an understanding of the basic skills, consistency through repetition, depending on your teammates and a love of the sport to keep our team competitive."

In regular season play, the Mustangs defeated Walker 2-0 on Sept. 18 at home. Mount Vernon fell to Mt. Paran on the same day 0-2.
