THOMASTON, Ga. - The Georgia High School Association (GHSA) released the sixth edition of the Class-A Private Football Power Ratings on Monday, Oct. 22, with the Mustangs (6-2, 4-1 Reg. 5-A) coming in at no. 16 overall in the polls for the third consecutive week.
The ratings are used to determine the Top-24 teams from Class-A Public and Private. At season’s end, those teams advance to the GHSA State Playoffs.

The Mustangs return to action on Friday, Oct. 26, traveling to take on the no. 2 ranked ELCA Chargers (7-1) in a key Region 5-1A contest.
A win for Mount Vernon would earn the Mustangs a three-way tie for the top spot in Region 5.
Kickoff against the Chargers is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. at Commitment Field in McDonough, Ga.
