MABLETON, Ga. - The Mount Vernon middle school girls tennis team came home with the hardware on Wednesday night, Dec. 5, claiming the 2018 Metro-10 Tennis Championship at Whitefield Academy.
The Mustangs, the no. 2 seed in the tournament, defeated the no. 3 seed Mount Pisgah in the semifinals before advancing to the Championship round.
In the Championship Round, the Mustangs knocked off King's Ridge to take the Title.
The lineup for the girls was as follows: 1S Sofia Tur, 2S Daniela O'Leary, 3S Annabel France, 1Doubles Abby Bell and Reagan Wissman, and 2Doubles Rory Hansen and Maggie McKenzie.
Other team members include Emma Dickie, Peyton Brady, and Caralee Newsome.
The boys finished an admirable third in the Metro-10 Tournament with a lineup consisting of 1S Liam O'Leary, 2S Kiefer Hurtado, 3S Nico Tur, 1D Grant Erickson and Chris Collins, 2D Cadyn Dawson and Davis Regier.
Other team members include Nathan Peji, Reiner Guttery, Reilly Dickie, and Jac Crouch.
Annabel France and Kiefer Furtado are completing a four-year run with the Middle School team as well.
