GHSA Releases First Class-A Private Girls and Boys Basketball Power Ratings

THOMASTON, Ga. - The Georgia High School Association (GHSA) released the first edition of the Class-A Private Basketball Power Ratings on Tuesday, Jan. 15, with the both of Mount Vernon's varsity basketball teams claiming a spot in the polls.

The varsity girls rank in at no. 29 while the varsity boys are no. 34 amongst Class-A Private squads.

The ratings are used to determine the Top-24 teams from Class-A Public and Private. At season’s end, those teams advance to the GHSA State Playoffs.

The Mustangs are back in action on Tuesday night, Jan. 15, traveling to Holy Innocents for Region 5-1A contests at 6 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.

Mount Vernon visits Galloway on Friday, Jan. 18, before returning home for Senior Night on Saturday, Jan. 19, vs. Brookstone.
