Mustangs Come in at No. 2 in Second GHSA Class-A Private Power Ratings

THOMASTON, Ga. - The Georgia High School Association (GHSA) released the second edition of the Class-A Private Baseball Power Ratings on Monday morning, March 18, with the Mustangs (9-0, 3-0 Reg. 5-1A) coming in at no. 2 overall in the polls for a second consecutive week.

The ratings are used to determine the Top-24 teams from Class-A Public and Private. At season’s end, those teams advance to the GHSA State Playoffs.

Mount Vernon ranks second to Tattnall Square Academy with an overall rating of 10.11.

The Mustangs picked up two wins over the Spring Break holiday, defeating Strong Rock 7-2 on March 15 before taking down Luella High School 8-1 on March 16.

The Mustangs return to the diamond on Monday, March 18, traveling to Our Lady of Mercy to take on the Bobcats.

First pitch is scheduled for 4 p.m. in Fayetteville, Ga.
