Girls Soccer Takes Down Our Lady of Mercy Bobcats On the Road, 11-1

FAYETTEVILLE, Ga. - The Mount Vernon varsity girls soccer team ended a quick one-game slide on Thursday night, April 11, taking down the Our Lady of Mercy Bobcats 11-1 on the road.

The Mustangs opened up the first half scoring six goals while limiting the Bobcats to just one score.

In the second half, Mount Vernon posted five goals to bring the mercy rule into effect.

Gracie Hudgins paced the team in scoring with four goals while teammate Audrey O'Toole finished with a hat trick.

Emery Hoffman totaled two scores while Madeline Hudgins and Brooke Been each netted one.

Hoffman led the squad with three assists in the match. Madeline Hudgins, Grace Keller, Benn and O'Toole each tallied one assist as well.

The Mustangs (11-4) are back in action on Monday, April 15, hosting the Atlanta International Eagles.

Kickoff is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. at the Glenn Campus Soccer Field.
