MARIETTA, Ga. - The Mount Vernon varsity track and field teams were in action on Wednesday afternoon, April 17, competing in Walton High School Last Chance Meet at Walton High School.

Both squads earned Top-5 finishes in the event.

The varsity boys took fourth place with 22 points with the varsity girls taking fifth place with 21 points.

-Girls 800m Run - Emily Raeside - 5th - 2:35.68
-Boys 800m Run - Robert Blumencranz - 2nd - 2:02.00

-Girls 200m Dash - Jessicka Woods - 1st - 26.35
-Girls 200m Dash - Ella Dawson - 13th - 29.16

The varsity track and field teams return to action on Saturday, April 20, competing at Landmark Christian School in Fairburn, Ga.

Events are set to begin at 9:30 a.m.
