ATLANTA - The Mount Vernon Athletic Department is pleased to announce the hosting of the first ever MVEE Awards Night, scheduled for Friday, May 3 in the Glenn Campus Gymnasium.
The MVEEs bring together the best Mount Vernon Athletics sports stories throughout the year in one amazing night. Student-athletes will be recognized and awarded for outstanding sports performances, best plays, male and female athletes of the year, and best team performance of the year, just to name a few.
"I'm incredibly excited about our MVEE Awards Night," Athletic Director Brad Dehem said. "Regardless of who wins an award, all of these student-athletes give a tremendous amount of time and energy to our athletic programs, and we truly want to honor them for their dedication and hard work with a special night."
Master of Ceremonies will be Head Cross Country and Tennis Coach Sam Baroody and Head Boys Basketball Coach Tarrik Mabon will serve as the host.
As a special bonus, the event will also include Super Bowl Champion Jamal Lewis as guest speaker.
Student-athlete and guest arrival time will begin at 5 p.m. followed by the Awards Show from 6-7 p.m.
Tickets are $10 and will be on sale Monday, April 23-Thursday, May 2 during lunch and enrichment on school days.
