Volleyball Splits Home Opener with Mt. Pisgah and Riverwood

ATLANTA - The Mount Vernon varsity volleyball team opened the home portion of their 2019 schedule on Tuesday night, August 20, hosting the Mt. Pisgah Patriots and the Riverwood Raiders at the Upper Campus Gymnasium.

The Mustangs earned a split on the night, defeating the Patriots 2-0 (25-16/25-13) before falling to the Raiders 0-2 (17-25/13-25).

In the victory over Mt. Pisgah, Anjali Singh led the squad with five kills.

Lauren Bell added four kills while Ella Dawson dropped in three aces as well.

The Mustangs (3-6) return to the court on Saturday, August 31, partaking in the Westlake Tournament at Westlake High School.
