Cross Country Recap: Saucony Battle of Atlanta

HAMPTON, Ga. - The Mount Vernon varsity girls and boys cross country teams were in action over the weekend, competing in the Saucony Battle of Atlanta at Nash Farms Battlefield on Saturday, August 24.

The varsity girls finished 24th out of 31 teams while the varsity boys took 31st of 39 squads.

Emily Raeside finished 33rd overall out of 270 runners clocking in at 21:02.

Teammate Audrey O'Toole took 81st at 22:45 as well.

In the boys race, Nick Pierce crossed the finish line first for the Mustangs in 64th place out of 345 runners at 17:55.

Ryan Rappaport was 75th overall at 18:08.

The Mustangs return to the trail on Saturday, August 31, competing in the AT&T Starrs Mill Panther Meet hosted by Starrs Mill High School.

The varsity girls race is set for 8 a.m. with the varsity boys to follow at 8:30 a.m. at the Heritage Christian Church Course.
