Volleyball Secures Road Sweep of Galloway, Holy Innocents

ATLANTA - The Mount Vernon varsity volleyball team pushed its winning streak to four games on Tuesday night, Sept. 10, defeating the Galloway School Scots and the Holy Innocents Golden Bears.

Both matches tilted in Mount Vernon's favor 2-0.

Against Galloway, the Mustangs took the first set 25-21 followed by a 21-19 victory in the second set to seal the win.

Katie Peddle totaled 11 kills against the Scots while Lauren Bell finished with six kills.

As a team, the Mustangs racked up 10 aces in the winning bid.

Against Holy Innocents, Mount Vernon won the first set 25-21 and finished off the match with a 25-17 win in the second set.

Peddle finished with eight kills against the Golden Bears while teammates Lauren Roush and Bell each had four kills.

The Mustangs (14-7), winners of 11 of their last 12 matches, return to the court Thursday, Sept. 12, traveling to Mt. Paran.

First serve against the Eagles is scheduled for 6 p.m. in Kennesaw, Ga.
