Weather Changes Softball Playoff Schedule vs. Hebron Christian

ATLANTA - Due to the high potential for inclement weather in metro Atlanta area on Tuesday afternoon, Oct. 15, Mount Vernon's varsity softball state playoff series against Hebron Christian has been moved to Wednesday-Thursday, Oct. 16-17.

Games 1 and 2 will be played on Wednesday, Oct. 16.

Game 1 will start at 1:30 p.m. Game 2 will follow 30 minutes at the conclusion of Game 1.

If necessary, Game 3 will be played on Thursday, Oct. 17 at 4 p.m.

All games will be played at Mount Vernon's Upper Campus Softball Field.

Admission is $7 for Wednesday's doubleheader and $5 for Thursday's single game.

Only GHSA Coaching Passes will accepted for free entry.

Hebron Christian (17-10), the no. 9 seed, advanced to the Sweet-16 by defeating no. 24 Whitefield last week in the opening round.

Mount Vernon (13-10), the no. 8 seed, earned a first round bye in the 2019 GHSA Class-A Private State Tournament.

Wednesday's meeting will be the first time in program history the Mustangs and Lions will have met (according to MaxPreps).
