Cross Country Recap: Coach Wood Invitational (Oct. 12)

WHITESBURG, Ga. – The Mount Vernon varsity cross country teams were in action over the weekend, competing in the Coach Wood Invitational on Saturday, Oct. 13, hosted by Mill Creek High School at the McIntosh Nature Preserve Course.

Emily Raeside placed fifth overall in the Girls 5K race with a time of 20:12. Teammate Audrey O’Toole was 19th at 21:42.

In the varsity boys race, the Mustangs finished 13th of 23 schools.

Ryan Rapaport was 23rd overall at 17:22 while teammate Nick Pierce was 27th at 17:24.

Jason Harvey secured a spot in the Top-75 with a time 18:21 (73rd).

Sean Pierce clocked in at 19:01 (108th) as well.

The Mustangs return to action on Thursday, Oct. 24 at the Area-3 Championship at the Heritage Christian Church Cross Country Course in Fayetteville, GA hosted by Trinity Christian.

The varsity girls race begins at 4:30 p.m. followed by the varsity boys at 5 p.m.
