ATLANTA - The Mount Vernon Athletic Department and Athletic Director Brad Dehem is pleased to name Jasmin Brown to the position of Varsity Girls Head Soccer Coach, announced Thursday, Dec. 10.

“We are so excited to welcome Coach Jasmin Brown to the Mount Vernon varsity girls soccer program this spring,” Dehem said. “She brings a wealth of playing and coaching experience to our varsity team this year along with a strong commitment to investing in relationships with our student athletes through the game of soccer.”

Brown is no stranger to the game, having played since she was six years old.

As she grew older, her resume continued to shine, competing for clubs and high school teams during her youth.

Brown also served on the Olympic Development Program for the northeast regional team from 2013-17.

She was a mainstay for numerous State and New England Select showcase teams as well.

"I am beyond excited and humbled to coach the Mount Vernon Girls Varsity Team this year! I love everything about this sport and all of the challenges and victories that come with it! I can’t remember a time when soccer wasn’t part of my life,” Brown said.

Her hard work paid off, earning a scholarship to Villanova to play Division I soccer in the Big East Conference.

Her coaching resume extends 19 years, starting off as a student coach at Villanova.

From there she was a coach for the Continental FC and the United Football Academy.

She is currently coaching the Concorde Fire U14 in the Southeastern Clubs Champions League.

“When you put in the effort and do the hard stuff, everything falls into place. Working hard will take you far beyond wins and losses on and off the field,” Brown said. “This will be a fantastic year and I hope you all are ready to make this journey with me!”

“I live by a few mottos for my team,” added Brown. “ We will win as a team, we will lose as a team. The bond of a team is invaluable and unbreakable. Everything we face this season, we will do it together.”

The Mustangs will start the 2021 campaign in January.
