Boys Soccer Shuts Out Mt. Pisgah 3-0 En Route to First Victory Of 2021 Season

ATLANTA - The Mount Vernon varsity boys soccer team defeated the Mt. Pisgah Patriots 3-0 on Thursday afternoon, Feb. 18, en route to its first victory of the 2021 season.

The Mustangs jumped out to a 2-0 lead by the end of he first period and added an insurance goal in the second half to further secure the win.

With 19:48 to play in the first half, Jamal Arif scored his first of two goals to put Mount Vernon ahead 1-0.

Parker Hollosi made it 2-0 Mustangs with a goal late in the first period.

Arif struck again for his third goal of the season with 9:34 to play in the match.

The Mustangs (1-2) return to the pitch on Tuesday, Feb. 23, traveling to St. Francis.

Kickoff against the Knights is scheduled for 5 p.m. in Roswell, Ga.
