Varsity Baseball Downs Galloway Scots in Six Innings, 13-2

ATLANTA - The Mount Vernon varsity baseball team picked up its second straight victory in as many days, taking down the Galloway Scots 13-2 at home in a six inning contest.

The Mustangs grabbed an early lead, scoring on a single by Austin Taylor, a home run by Dylan Holbrook, and a double by Blake Kytle in the first inning.

After Galloway scored one run in the top of the third, Mount Vernon answered with one of their own when Landon Brice's sac fly scored one run.

Daniel O'Keefe took the win for Mount Vernon. The lefty went two innings, allowing two runs on one hit and striking out one batter.

Chase Perry threw four innings in relief out of the bullpen as well.

The Mustangs Varsity racked up 13 hits in the game. Jack Sims, Holbrook, Kytle, and Brice each managed multiple hits for the Mustangs. Holbrook and Sims each collected three hits to lead the team.

The Mustangs (6-8-1) are back in action on Thursday, April 8, hosting the Wesleyan Wolves in Region 5-1A play.

First pitch is scheduled for 5 p.m. at the Upper Campus Baseball Field.
