ATLANTA – The Mount Vernon Athletic Department and Athletic Director Brad Dehem are pleased to announce the hiring of Bobby Hayes as head strength and conditioning coach and varsity wrestling head coach.

“Throughout the interview process, it was evident that Bobby stood out as one of the best candidates,” Dehem said. “We are excited to have him at Mount Vernon and are looking forward to the positive impact he will make with all of our student-athletes, coaches and community.”

Hayes comes to Mount Vernon from Westminster where he served as the assistant director of strength and conditioning since 2005.

He was also PE teacher and head varsity wrestling coach during his stint with the Wildcats.

Hayes has also served the youth since 2019 at Hillgrove High School in Powder Springs, GA.

Hayes also served as a strength and conditioning intern at the University of Alabama from January-September 2004.

Hayes earned his B.S. in Exercise Science from Valdosta State University in 2004.

He is set to join Mount Vernon in July 2021.
