ROSWELL, Ga. - The Mount Vernon varsity volleyball team earned split on Tuesday, August 17, falling to the host Blessed Trinity 0-2 before defeating North Gwinnett 2-0.
The Mustangs fell to Blessed Trinity in two sets (13-25, 12-25).
Following the match, Mount Vernon rallied and took down North Gwinnett in two sets (25-17, 25-23).
Mount Vernon totaled eight aces on the night while racking up 29 kills as well.
The Mustangs return to the court on Thursday, August 26, hosting a tri-match with Pace Academy and Riverwood for the 2021 home opener.
First serve against Pace is scheduled for 5 p.m. followed by Riverwood at 7 p.m. at the Upper Campus Gym.
