Volleyball Earns Victories over Holy Innocents, Atlanta International

ATLANTA - The Mount Vernon varsity volleyball team defeated the Holy Innocents Bears and Atlanta International School Eagles on the road on Wednesday, Sept. 22, in a tri-match hosted by Holy Innocents.

The Mustangs took down the Holy Innocents Bears 2-0 (27-25, 25-23).

In the nightcap, Mount Vernon bested Atlanta International 2-1 (25-12, 21-25, 15-8) to earn the sweep.

Taylor Docka led all players with 12 kills while Maggie Sims finished with seven.

Sims also recorded six blocks to lead the Mustangs at the net.

Mount Vernon is back in action Friday-Saturday, Sept. 24-25, participating in the Lovett Block Party hosted by The Lovett School.

Friday's schedule is as follows: v. Walker (5 p.m.) and v. Marist (7 p.m.)

On Saturday the Mustangs take on St. Francis at 10 a.m.
