ATLANTA - The Mount Vernon varsity football team picked up its sixth straight victory on Friday afternoon, Oct. 15, defeating the Providence Christian Storm 48-6 at the Upper Campus Stadium Field on Homecoming 2021.
Jonathan Gallinaro finished with a team high five touchdowns on seven catches and 208 yards.
Nagari Tophia also finished with a receiving touchdowns in the Mustang victory.
Spencer Corley rushed for a touchdown as well to lead the Mustang rush attack.
Luke Barnes finished the game 10-for-13 with 266 yards passing with six touchdowns under center.
Mount Vernon led 28-0 at the end of the first quarter and added two more scores in the second quarter for a 42-0 lead at intermission.
The Mustangs added one more touchdown in the third quarter to end the scoring.
Mount Vernon (6-2, 2-0 Reg. 5-1A) returns to action this Saturday, Oct. 23, traveling to cross-town rival Holy Innocents for a key Region 5-1A game.
Kickoff is scheduled for 2:30 p.m.
