Sixteen Mustangs Land on All-Region 5-1A Football Team

ATLANTA - After another winning season that saw the Mustangs advance to the GHSA Class-A Private Sweet-16, the Mount Vernon varsity football team has been rewarded for their hard work by placing 16 players on the All-Region 5-1A Team.

Below are the team members and accolades.










Defensive Player of The Year:
Austin Taylor (131 total tackles, 61 Solo, 12 TFL, 5 Sacks, 1 FR)

1st Team Offense:
WR Jonathan Gallinaro (46 Rec., 1,040 Yds, 10 TD's)
OL George Pope

2nd Team Offense:
QB Luke Barnes (2,000 yards passing, 22 TD's, 64% completion percentage)
OL Tyler Long
WR Jack Mette

1st Team Defense:
DL Michael Lotz (52 total tackles, 4 sacks)
LB Will Palmer (89 total tackles, 12 TFL, 5 sacks, 1 FR)

2nd Team Defense:
DL Michael Hardie (27 total tackles, 2 sacks)
LB Sam Landers (61 total tackles, 6 TFL, 1 INT)
LB Liam O’Toole (66 total tackles, 4 TFL, 3 INT, 2 FF)
