Mustangs Take Down Holy Innocents 8-3 on Spring Sports Senior Day

ATLANTA - The Mount Vernon varsity baseball team picked up an 8-3 region victory over Holy Innocents on Tuesday, April 19 at Mustang Park.

Dylan Holbrook dazzled on the mound for Mount Vernon, tossing a complete game while allowing two earned runs and striking out seven batters.

After Holy Innocents jumped out to a 3-0 lead, the Mustangs scored eight unanswered to take the victory.

Dawson Stevens finished the game 2-for-3 with two RBI's while David Adkins was 1-for-2 with two RBI's.

Before the game, the Mount Vernon Athletic Department honored all spring sports seniors from the Class of 2022 in baseball, lacrosse, girls and boys soccer, girls and boys tennis, girls and boys golf and track and field.

The Mount Vernon Athletic Department sincerely thanks all members of the Class of 2022 for their contributions and efforts over the years.

The Mustangs (8-13) are back on the diamond on Thursday, April 21, traveling to Holy Innocents for Game 2 of the current three-game series.

First pitch against the Golden Bears is scheduled for 4 p.m.
