PEACHTREE CORNERS, Ga. - The Mount Vernon Varsity Cross Country teams were in action on Wednesday, Oct. 5 competing at the Wesleyan Invitational hosted by The Wesleyan School.
The Varsity Boys finished second overall, totaling 59 points.
Harriss Flynn finished second overall, crossing the finish line at 18:15.
Teammate Collin Maher secured a Top-10 spot, clocking in at 18:50 for sixth overall.
Charlie Duerr had an impressive race as well, coming in 13th at 19:32.
Mount Vernon finished ahead of Holy Innocents, St. Francis and Norcross High School in eight-team event.
In the combined Varsity and JV Girls race, the Mustangs placed second out of five teams with 68 points.
Taylor Keller finished in 18th place with a time of 24:35 while teammate Audrey Thompson was was right behind in 19th at 24:39.
Gracie Urban came in 21st, timing in at 24:46 and Emi Lutz was 23rd overall at 24:59.

The Mustangs return to action on Saturday, Oct. 15 at the Coach Wood Invitational hosted by Mill Creek High School.
Races are scheduled to start at at 8:15 a.m. at the McIntosh Nature Preserve in Whitesburg, Ga.
