ALPHARETTA, Ga. - The Mount Vernon Varsity Wrestling team was back on the mat on Wednesday afternoon, Dec. 14, competing at Alpharetta High School.

The Mustangs pulled out the victory, defeating the Raiders 54-24 on the road.

"The team really continues to improve each and every day and our young guys stepped it up again along with our veteran guys help to seal the deal," Head Coach Derrick Washington said.

Pins came from Chip Fauhlbusch (126 lb.), Dustin Kytle (150), Sam Worth (157) and Micheal Pozzobon (190).

Prior to Wednesday victory, Mount Vernon was 3-2 at the Westminster Duals on Saturday, Dec. 11.

JC Moeser (120) led the team with a 5-0 overall record.

Liam O'Toole (165) and Pozzobon also finished 4-1 on the day.

The Mustangs return to action on Saturday, Dec. 17 at the Coral Mountain Classic hosted by North Forsyth High School.

Matches are set to start at 9 a.m. in Cumming, Ga.
