ATLANTA - The Mount Vernon Varsity Wrestling team took to the mat for the first time in 2023 on Wednesday, Jan. 4, defeating the North Cobb Christian Eagles 69-6 at the Upper Campus Gym.
The Mustangs are now 6-3 on the season ahead of Saturday's Area Duals.
Key pins came from the following wrestlers: JC Moeser (120 lb.), Alec Flint (132), Walker Warshaw (138), Dustin Kytle (150), Sam Worth (157), Michael Pozzobon (175), and Ryley Fuller (190).
Saturday's Area Duals will take place at St. Francis High School in Milton, Ga.
