SANDY SPRINGS, Ga. - The Mount Vernon Varsity Boys and Girls tennis squads rolled to commanding victories over the Walker School Wolverines on Wednesday afternoon, Feb. 1 at the Sandy Springs Tennis Center.
The Varsity Boys remain unbeaten through the first three matches of the year as they defeated the Wolverines 5-0.
The Varsity Girls picked up their first victory of the 2023 campaign, defeating the Wolverines 4-1.
Liam O'Leary won 8-2 at no. 1 singles while Cadyn Dawson steamrolled his opponent 8-0 at no. 2 singles.
Christopher Collins shutout his opponent 8-0 at no. 3 singles as well.
At no. 1 doubles, Kiefer Hurtado and Colin Walker shutout the opposition 8-0.
Lawson Byers and Jake Hodges breezed to a victory at no. 2 doubles, winning 8-2.
In the Varsity Girls match, Daniela O'Leary was the first player off the court after annihilating her opponent 8-0 at no. 1 singles.
Reagan Wissman was triumphant at no. 2 singles with an 8-2 win while Lucille Kincaid won at no. 3 singles 8-2.
Annabel France and Sadie Hutchens were the last ones on court but took the no. 1 doubles match 8-4.
The Mustangs are back on the court on Tuesday, Feb. 7, hosting the Riverwood Raiders.
First serve is set for 3 p.m. at the Sandy Springs Tennis Center.
