JOHNS CREEK, Ga. - The Mount Vernon Varsity Track and Field teams were in action on Wednesday afternoon, April 6, competing at the Mount Pisgah Meet at the Patriot Athletic Campus.

The Boys 4x100m relay consisting of Ben Spitz, Nagari Tophia, Christopher Kartsonas & Aidan Ray made their season debut and opened with a 1A-D1 leading time of 43.16, placing them as current favorites for the State Title.
Tophia blazed to a no.1 ranking in 1A-D1 in both the 100m and 200m with a Georgia Top 25 time of 10.78 in the 100m and 22.34 in the 200m.
Kartsonas had a personal best Long Jump mark of over 21 feet that puts him up to no. 3 in 1A-D1
Colin Maher excited the crowd with a phenomenal race in the boys 1600m to sprint to a first place overall finish.
Maher defeated the current no. 2 ranked 1600m runner in the classification.
Haris Flynn also turned in a personal best in the boys 800m, finishing first overall.
Flynn is now the fourth ranked 800m runner in 1A-D1.
Kennedy Reynolds again showed why she is a Champion by placing first overall in the Girls 100m hurdles and first in the Girls 400m with a new personal best time of 59.39.
Reynolds also powered the Girls 4x400m relay to a Top 3 finish overall.
"There were so many PRs achieved," Head Coach Syemour Adlam said. "This was a fantastic meet which served notice that we will be one of the teams to beat when the Championship series begins later this month."
