Softball Nabs Eighth Straight Win with 11-0 Victory Over Galloway

ATLANTA - The Mount Vernon Varsity Softball team pushed its winning streak to eight games on Tuesday night, Sept. 19, defeating the Galloway School Scots 11-0 in five innings at Mustang Park in Region 6-1A DI action.

Mount Vernon started the scoring early with three runs in the first inning and three more in the second frame to go ahead 6-0.

The Mustangs also added five runs in the third inning to take a commanding 11-0 lead.

Three players finished with two RBI's each: Kennedy Reynolds, Priscilla Andrin, and Reagan Hickey.

Alex Schiff, Grace Westmoreland and Lauren Dove each netted two hits in the win as well.

Westmoreland, Reese Hickey and Mollie Martin all chipped in with efforts in the circle, combining for five innings pitched with 11 strikeouts and just one walk.

Mount Vernon (14-4, 9-0 Reg. 6-1A DI) returns to action on Thursday, Sept. 21, traveling to King's Ridge for a region game against the Tigers.

First pitch is scheduled for 5 p.m. at the Tiger Softball Field.
