JOHNS CREEK, Ga. - The Mount Vernon Varsity Volleyball team was in action on Tuesday night, Sept. 19, competing in a region tri-match against the King's Ridhe Christian School Tigers and the host Mt. Pisgah Patriots.
The Mustangs earned a split on the night, defeating the Tigers 2-0 before falling to the Patriots 0-2.
In the match against King's Ridge, the Mustangs took the first set 25-14 and secured the match with a 26-24 win in the second set.
Mount Vernon finished with 18 kills, 17 assists, 27 digs and six aces overall.
Taylor Docka was active on the offensive end, finishing with 11 kills while teammate Claire Jacobsen finished with three.
Docks was also the leader in assists with three.
Cate Jacobsen tallied three digs while Brook Nazarian, Anna-Charlotte Toole and Kate Dawson finished with two each.
Toole was also the team leader in assists with 14.
In the match against Mt. Pisgah, the Mustangs dropped both sets to the Patriots, 25-7 and 25-14.
Mount Vernon (17-15) returns to action this weekend, competing in the 12th Annual Island Bash on Friday-Saturday, Sept. 22-23, with matches scheduled throughout both days in Hilton Head Island, SC.
