Mustangs Close Out Regular Season with 57-26 Victory at St. Francis

MILTON, Ga. - The Mount Vernon Varsity Football team closed out the 2023 regular season in style on Friday night, Nov. 3, defeating the St. Francis Knights 57-26 in region play on the road.

Quarterback Sam Nazarian finished with 134 yards passing on 6-of-8 attempts with two touchdowns.

The Mustangs rushed for 335 yards in the game, led by the 257 of running back Walker Warshaw.

Warshaw also had four rushing touchdowns to his credit on Friday night.

Bristan DeRocher led the Mustangs in receiving yards with 40.

Teammates Jonathan Gallinaro and Ethan Pajot each finished with one touchdown reception as well.

Mount Vernon (7-3) will now take on the Pepperrell in the first round of the GHSA 1A-DI State Tournament, scheduled to begin Friday, Nov. 10.

Kickoff against the Dragons is scheduled for 2 p.m. at Ron Hill Field.
