The Mustangs accomplished that feat with a commanding 35-7 victory over the Pepperell High School Dragons at Ron Hill Field on Friday afternoon, Nov. 10.
Mount Vernon struck for its first score midway through the opening quarter on a 7-yard Walker Warshaw rush to make it 7-0.
With 6:43 to play in the first half, Mount Vernon got another Warshaw touchdown, this time a 6-yard rush, to go ahead 14-0.
The Mustangs put the game away in the third quarter, scoring two touchdowns.
Nate Thomas caught a 76-yard pass from Sam Nazarian followed by a 53-yard catch from Ethan Pajot to go up 28-0.
MV's final touchdown of the game came at the 7:28 mark of the fourth period on a Nazarian 1-yard rush.
The Dragons punched in their only score of the game on Sam Ross keeper with 4:00 to play in the game.
Nazarian finished 9-of-14 passing with 208 yards and two touchdowns.
Warshaw rushed for 203 yards on 28 carries while Thomas led the squad in receiving with 85 yards on two receptions.
The Mustangs (8-3) return to action on Friday night, Nov. 17, traveling to Prince Avenue Christian.
Kickoff is slated for 7:30 p.m. at Brad Akins Field in Bogart, Ga.
