ATLANTA - The Mount Vernon Varsity Boys Basketball team picked up another region victory on Tuesday night, Dec. 5, defeating the Atlanta International School Eagles 91-20 on the road.

Mount Vernon posted 42 points in the first quarter en route to the victory.

Five players finished in double-figures scoring for the Mustangs, paced by the 20 points of Sha'Yah Goba.

Pace Bottoms totaled 14 points while Simeon Montgomery and Cole Carroll each netted 12.

Gabe Alterman finished with 10 points as well.

Mount Vernon made 12 3-pointers in Tuesday's contest with Carroll leading the charge from behind the arc with four.

The Mustangs (5-3, 2-0 Reg. 6-1A DI) are back on the court on Friday, Dec. 8 taking on King's Ridge Christian School.

The Tigers, ranked as the no. 3 team in the state in 1A-DI, defeated Paideia 60-52 on Tuesday night on the road.

Tipoff for Friday's game is slated for 7:30 p.m. at the King's Ridge Student Center Gymnasium in Alpharetta, Ga.
