Girls Soccer Secures 2-1 Region Win at Atlanta International

ATLANTA - The Mount Vernon Varsity Girls Soccer team picked up a key region victory on Monday night, Feb. 26, defeating the Atlanta International School Eagles 2-1 on the road.

MV struck for two goals in the first period, both scored by Taylor Baker.

Each score was assisted as well with Rachel Reeve and Siena Tiffin each earning one assist.

Mount Vernon totaled seven shots en route to the victory.

Bella Champney picked up the win in goal, racking up nine saves for the Mustangs.

Mount Vernon will return to the pitch after Interim and Spring Break on Tuesday, March 19.

The Mustangs (2-4) will host St. Francis at Ron Hill Field with kickoff set for 4:00 p.m.
